Cistern is a small community half way between Smithville and Flatonia on Hwy 95 at FM 2237. We are 50 miles from the Austin airport; 112 miles from Houston;102 miles from San Antonio; and about 30 miles from Lockhart and LaGrange.
From Austin: Take Hwy 71-East to Smithville's first exit.
Take Flatonia - Hwy 95-S Exit and stay on it for 14 miles.From San Antonio: Take IH-10 East to Flatonia.
Take Smithville - Hwy 95-N Exit & stay on it for 12 miles.From Houston: Take IH-10 West to Flatonia.
Take Smithville - Hwy 95-N Exit and stay on it for 12 miles.From Lockhart: Take 20 toward Bastrop.
Turn Right on 713 and stay on it until you get to Cistern.(At Jeddo the road changes to Charcoal Road and then Jeddo Road.)From LaGrange: Take 609 toward Flatonia.
